Marion Hose Bar

4/5

In the heart of Jim Thorpe, amidst a number of well-known establishments, Marion Hose Bar carves out its own distinct identity. Located at 16 West Broadway, this former firehouse, originally built in 1885, has been meticulously restored to preserve its historical character while introducing a full kitchen and bar. The space retains its authentic charm, with the decor and menu paying homage to its firefighting past.

At Marion Hose Bar, the focus is on two key things: creative sandwich making and an unapologetic love of cheese. This restaurant may very well have the best beer cheese in the entirety of the Poconos, although we certainly welcome anyone to try and top it. Each sandwich stands apart with it’s own heavy-hitting twists.

One standout is “The Pig Lebowski,” a hearty creation featuring kielbasa and Alpine Wurst on a warm pretzel roll, layered with beer-braised sauerkraut, pierogies, Swiss cheese, and beer mustard. It’s a sandwich as bold and inventive as it is daunting. For those of you not as keen on sandwiches layered with assorted meats, cheeses and polish dumplings, Marion Hose Bar also offers veggie burgers, Roasted Portobello sandwiches, as well as a fresh and thoughtful salad menu.

Marion Hose Bar offers something for everyone hungry for courageous new flavors and thirsting for signature cocktails.
